EntreeWireless
I've blogged about the Kyocera KR-1 EVDO WiFi router before, but this is a neat adaption of it. You place it in this box with batteries and extended wifi antennas and you have a portable first responder hotspot.
Pretty Slick

HF (high frequency) and VHF Radiowave Propagation Center: Live propagation and space weather data and forecasts
A great propagation website for those who want to know whats going on with the solar flares and etc. NW7US (the creator) also has set it up so you can get the latest propagation reports via RSS feed. Now if I knew what any of these solar flares or aurora was, this would be very helpful.

ARRLWeb: The Aftershock Exercise
I've been in this situation before. Exercises always don't go perfect. Sometimes they go...very bad.

FederalTimes.com FEMA replaced by USEMA?
This is actually one of the better proposals I've seen in regards of the FEMA situation. I've always been a supporter that FEMA needs to stay under DHS, but I like the idea of it being a seperate agency similiar to the Coast Guard (which is also reports under DHS). This would also allow for a direct flow of communications between the FEMA director and the president similiar to the Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Some in congress think that FEMA should become this superpower agency that can override the president and such, and should be removed from DHS and everything else. Those members of congress don't understand emergency management... and are idiots.
I will say though that I don't have any idea why they need to change the name. It's pointless, a waste of money, and confusing.
If they are doing it to give the agency a better name and better marketing, they are wasting their time. Politicians need to realize the government isn't trying to sell anyone anything, and in all seriousness, I think we could call it the "I don't know my rear from my front emergency management agency" and people still would come asking for money when disaster strikes!

Field Day 2006 at W1AW
Does ARRL want to cater to the younger crowd? This is a good start. I loved this digital photo story that gave some info about the W1AW Field Day operation. If they could do this with more of their news stories, I'd be on their website a lot more!
Also, they need to make that ARRL podcast more then them reading the ARRL newsletter. I get kinda tired of listening to the same stuff I can just read myself on the website.
